2012 Schedule

Around Easter 2012, I will be starting maternity leave for 4 months. Because it is not certain exactly when I will be unavailable, and when I will be able to return to coaching, there are currently no standard courses scheduled for 2012.

However if you are in eastern Melbourne and keen to learn to fence, there will still be opportunities!

I will be coaching at the Whitehorse Chevaliers fencing club for as long as possible, and arranging for other coaches to be available there while I am on leave.

Saturday January 21st - Introduction Session
Group class, 11:30-12:30pm. Nunawading Community Centre, Silver Grove Nunawading.
$20 no-obligation intro session for those those interested in taking up the sport.

Saturday Classes:
The Whitehorse Chevaliers fencing club trains 11am-1pm on Saturdays at the Nunawading Community Centre.
For $40 membership + $12 per session, includes half an hour of practice drills, and individual lessons available. (Discounted pre-payment options also available)
There is also an Under-14's class running 11am-12:30pm from Feb 4th.

Tuesday Classes:
The Whitehorse Chevaliers fencing club trains 7:30-9:30pm on Tuesdays at the Forest Hill Hall, Cnr Canterbury Rd and Springvale Roads.
$40 membership + $10 session fee. For an additional $5 per session there will be a group class running for approximately the first hour.
Starting January 31, the group classes will cover the equivalent of the standard introduction course. (Total cost to Easter; $190)

Beginner Class

The final adult beginner course for 2011 has now been scheduled to start October 18th.

Running on Tuesdays, 7:30-9:30 in the Forest Hill Hall. This course runs in conjunction with the Whitehorse Chevaliers fencing club.

The fee includes use of all required equipment, coaching, affiliation with Fencing Victoria and membership of the Whitehorse Chevaliers for the rest of 2011 - so you'll have plenty of opportunities to practise your new skills.

Fencing for U14's

We're pleased to announce that in conjunction with the Whitehorse Chevaliers Fencing Club, we will be running classes for U14s in Term 4.

These classes will be suitable for complete beginners as well as those who have some experience at school. We recommend ages 9-13, but other ages may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.

They will take place at the Nunawading Community Centre, which is close to public transport, has change-rooms on site, and family members are welcome to make use of the stadium seating while the class is in progress.

The cost will be $120 for the term, which is all-inclusive and covers coaching, use of equipment, insurance and affiliation with Fencing Victoria and the Whitehorse Chevaliers.

Classes will be held Saturdays, 11am-12:30pm. The first class is scheduled for October 15th.

Not Dead, Just Resting

Things have been quiet here for a while, but we're now back with some exciting developments.

U14 Classes
In conjunction with the Whitehorse Chevaliers fencing club, we're looking at running a regular fencing class for U14s.
Suitable for kids aged 10-14, equipment provided, this training session would initially be scheduled to run during term 4 on Saturdays (11am-12:30) in Nunawading.
Expressions of interest are being accepted now. E-mail enquiries@riposte.com.au to be added to the mailing list and be kept up to date with progress. The more interest we have, the lower the cost will be.

Schools Fencing
From September, Lisa will be available to coach in schools and school-holiday programmes. We'll post some more info on this in August.
Taster sessions and short courses can also be run for organisations other than schools. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Adult Classes
Adult classes have been on hiatus for a few months, but we hope to get those started again from September as well. Check this page for further updates, or e-mail enquiries@riposte.com.au to register your interest and we will e-mail you with updates.
If you can't wait, drop by the Whitehorse Chevaliers fencing club any time for a very rapid introduction.

Club Update

A big thanks to all those who have expressed interest in starting a new fencing club in the Nunawading area.

The response has been good, so we're now examining the paperwork needed to launch the club in 2011. If you would like more information or to be kept up to date on what's happening, please contact us.

The club will be getting it's own website in due course, we'll link to it here when that happens.
